Poop
Shoot!

What is the Poop Shoot?

The Poop Shoot started as a bad joke for a good cause: to bring shooting sports and colon cancer prevention together—cheek-to-cheek—to spread awareness through humor and good will.

Colon cancer is no laughing matter: It is one of the most common forms of cancer, a leading cause of death and suffering, and uniquely preventable. From this, we can infer that colon cancer is among life's most ignored hazards. By increasing awareness and access to early detection, we can reduce the number of people suffering from this disease.

So start thinking about buns and guns, and set your sights for a Poop Shoot at your local shooting range, on the full moon at the tail end of National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, March 31, 2018.

For more information see:

Find or organize a Poop Shoot at your local gun range. (Need help finding a range? Use the Range Locator at NSSF or NSSF's WhereToShoot.org.)

You'll have a blast, and with your participation it could be a blowout!

History

Hi, I'm John.

I love and very strongly want to support my country and our right to keep and bear arms. I'm a certified firearms instructor and a web developer/publisher working with mostly not-for-profit organizations.

I also have a lifelong friend who has been fighting colon cancer.

(Another dear friend would campaign for President every four years using the name Ben Dover. On the campaign trail, his very-supportive wife used the name Eileen Dover. In later years, we called him Dr. Ben Dover, though he’s not a real doctor. Let's see if he'll give us a hand...)

I created the Poop Shoot during the first-ever National Shooting Sports Month, a nationwide celebration of the shooting sports in August 2017, and just in time for National Tell-a-Joke Day on August 16, which shared this:

A three-legged dog walks into a saloon and says, "I’m looking for the man who shot my paw."

Fling me a message!
